The Alaska senator, one of the longest-serving Republicans in Congress, hired the firm to defend him in a public corruption case in Washington. Cary and firm partner Brendan Sullivan Jr. led the defense team — an effort Cary describes in the new book “Not Guilty: The Unlawful Prosecution of U.S. Senator Ted Stevens.”
