SACRAMENTO — Alameda County Superior Court Judge Tara Flanagan was admonished by the state’s judicial discipline agency Tuesday for failing to report the actual source of $25,000 in loans to her successful 2012 campaign.

The Commission on Judicial Performance said Flanagan’s friend and campaign treasurer, Carol Pranka, gave her checks for $10,000 and $15,000 between March and May 2012 to aid her effort to win a contested race for an open seat on the Alameda County bench. Although the money was intended as a loan to the campaign, the checks were made out to Flanagan, and she deposited them in her business and personal bank accounts.
